This cupboard started life as an early 20th century wardrobe, but we decided to add some shelves to make the storage more versatile. You could, of course, remove them and put in a pole instead, but as it is only 40 cm deep modern hangers are a bit of a tight squeeze.
This has been fully restored in our workshop and is in good vintage condition. The body has been painted in a dark grey basecoat and a white eggshell topcoat. The centre panels are painted in Annie Sloan French Linen with a stencilled design of trailing flowers in graphite mixed with French Linen and old white. I was aiming for a relaxed primitive folk art style, and distressed the design to give it an aged appearance. The whole piece was finished with several coats of neutral wax.
The inside of the cupboard is painted in a deep blue and the door panels have been coated in blackboard paint, perfect for doodling or list making!
Dimensions; 173 cm high, 92 cm wide and 40 cm deep.
