Description
A vintage glazed mahogany bookcase that has been restored in our workshop and is in good condition. It is solid, stable and the drawers and doors all work as they should. It has it’s original key, which also works in the drawer.
This was painted in black emulsion and finished with a black eggshell, we then gave it a couple of coats of neutral wax for added durability. The inside was painted with Craig & Rose Regency White (a creamy white shade) and a tansy design was applied to the back. The finishing touch was the addition of some new knobs to the drawer.
While this was originally designed as a bookcase, and it’s certainly big enough to hold quite a library! It could be used for so many other purposes, additional storage in a kitchen or bathroom, as a display cabinet, or to store linens (if you are a dab hand at folding) to name a few. It’s a handsome piece that would make a stylish addition to any room.
